The Reason to Pray - Boaz Ko
at 2022-07-11 05:18:20.0 / 1155 HitsAs a pastor, I live in a world given to me. He is doing one of the jobs (?) that he most wants to avoid when he is young, like a mission. It has been 27 years since he served as a minister, starting with his theological course over 30 years ago. There are great models that you want to emulate in all the Christian life. Among them, the most prominent pastor is a pastor who majored in theology in his 40s, started the ministry in the middle, and prayed for 3 hours a day.
After experiencing that prayer cannot be left behind in the ministry of pursuing spiritual things, Pastor Young-ki Choi (elder of Seoul Church in Houston) is a senior and teacher at the top of the model I want to emulate. One proof of his desire to be like him is the two hours of prayer, which is less than three hours. He has been communing with the Lord through two hours of prayer since about 7 years ago.
At the same time, there is something to learn and realize empirically about the importance of prayer and the reason to do it, according to a model pastor who wants to be like his predecessors. Through this page, we would like to share the main reasons we should pray.
The most important reason is to make spiritual choices. When we do not pray, the most common mistake we make is that we make carnal choices in our choices. I think it's a common example of people being led into big or small tests by being led by profit, temptation, or delusion right in front of their noses. On the other hand, when we pray, we seem to be able to objectively look at situations, events, or tests with the free time we are given.
Above all, since we give the center of seeking the Lord's will, we can expect wisdom from heaven. When that wisdom is given, the things that are heard, seen, or realized are experienced. As a result, I think that spiritual choices are possible for those who pray. In that sense, the wise people around me are people of prayer in common.
However, it is an honest confession that praying is never easy. For me, at least so far, prayer has the character of work. In other words, it is not easy. It seems like we should just make a quick decision, act, and get ahead, but it is often much more difficult to do nothing and be quiet. Nevertheless, the reason we keep the place of prayer is because God the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness and intercedes. (Romans 8:26)
“So the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what to pray for, but the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with an earnestness that cannot be expressed in words.”
