Fingers and Palms - Boaz

“Doctor, no matter where I press, it hurts! It hurts when I press my head, it hurts when I press my stomach, it hurts when I press my legs!” The doctor examined the man for a long time and then said.
“You've broken your finger.”
It's a very short humor. I think whatever you touch with a broken finger will hurt. No matter how good something is, touching it with a fractured finger will still hurt. So I think joy and happiness are far from it.
I wonder if it's similar to seeing, hearing, and feeling things with a crooked and wounded mind, because from that mind and perspective, things will look distorted, sound wrong, and feel painful and distressing.
In everyday life, when you point a finger at someone, all but three of them are pointing at you. The thumb, which is the middle ground, seems to be supporting the other three fingers. There is no comfort or healing in pointing fingers at someone. Rather, I'm worried that it will come from a direction I can't see.
I remember being told by a communication trainer that it's a great way to point at someone. After telling us not to point at someone with our fingers, he told us to turn our palms toward the sky and point all five fingers toward the other person. The palm is a sign of respect, he said, and out of that respect comes communication and trust.
And how do you calm, soothe, and comfort yourself? As I closed my eyes in questioning and contemplation, an image came to mind. The image of a palm facing the heavens, embracing my chest and comforting me. Then some words and praises come to mind and sound like a spring from the depths of my heart. That is Psalm 8.
“How beautiful is your name, O LORD our God, in all the earth.
I behold thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, and the moon and the stars, which thou hast made.
