I am a Christian and a pastor. In other words, I live my life with the identity of a pastor within the Christian community. As a result, I seek the truth in making important choices and decisions in my life.

However, looking back on the past 10 years or so, I find myself in great confusion about the truth. This is because within Christianity, there are two camps, each claiming to be pursuing the truth. God is one, and the Bible is one, yet the truth spoken of in the Bible has led to a confrontation between good and evil, transcending mere opposition. It is utterly incomprehensible and unacceptable. This is because I believe that one of the two must be clearly wrong.

I am not God, so I cannot judge like a judge. However, one thing is clear: one is truth, and the other is falsehood. This may seem like an extreme statement, but the truth spoken of in the Bible is never compromising. Of course, reinterpretation according to the times is necessary. However, if false interpretations are added, it will give rise to another heresy.

I believe that the foundation of truth is based on facts. On the other hand, I believe that falsehood originates from lies. While meditating on this, I researched the words. The word “fact” comes from the Latin word factum (past participle of facere; to do). Simply put, a fact is something that has already happened, something that has been done.

However, “fake,” which means “to deceive” or “to embellish,” refers to the act of forging or imitating something, as chatGPT explains. This means distorting or altering an event that has already occurred to embellish or deceive. From a biblical perspective, Satan is called the father of lies. Why was such an expression used? Perhaps it is because Satan uses “fake” to distort the facts that God has already accomplished and tailor them to his own world.

Recently, I have been confused by this standard, and I would like to mention something that we, including myself, who speak with political convictions, should consider. I understand that each of us is diverse and ultimately makes selfish choices and decisions based on our own perspectives. In fact, I believe that this is natural and should be respected.

However, do we acknowledge that God is one, good, and merciful? Do we believe that He is the true truth and the source of life? And do we believe the Bible, which He has revealed to us, as the truth? If so, I firmly believe that distorting the truth and facts of the Bible, which has already been faithfully fulfilled, through “fake” is absolutely unacceptable. For that is the path of following the father of lies, Satan.
